Hohhot, capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has laid out its ambitious plans for 2024, aiming to implement over 1,100 key projects that have investments exceeding 150 billion yuan ($20.9 billion). The city is determined to kick-start all of its projects within the first half of the year.
The city is set to become a pilot city for "Science and Technology Innovation in China". It will introduce a plan to attract over 100 high-level innovative talents, solidifying its commitment to innovation.
Furthermore, Hohhot will carry out its "Free Trade Zone Creation Project", which will advance the establishment of the Hohhot Core Area of the China (Inner Mongolia) Pilot Free Trade Zone. Efforts will also be made to increase the number of China-Europe and China-Asia freight trains to 100. The total import and export volume in the comprehensive bonded zone is targeted to reach 10 billion yuan, while substantial progress is expected to be achieved in the Hohhot-Baotou integration project.
Hohhot aims to expand and strengthen its industrial pillars, with the goal of achieving a total output value of 60 billion yuan in the green agricultural and animal product processing industry cluster. Efforts will be made to cultivate a world-leading cluster in dairy product manufacturing, thus enhancing the influence of "China's Dairy Capital". The city also plans to promote its electronic information technology industry cluster, so that it achieves an operating income of 50 billion yuan. This will contribute to the city's efforts to build the "China Cloud Valley".
The city's new materials and modern equipment manufacturing industry cluster is set to achieve a production value of 80 billion yuan.
