To celebrate the 14th National Winter Games, Hohhot, capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has organized a rich array of ice and snow activities, gradually igniting the public's enthusiasm for winter sports.
The skiing season at Mazongshan Ski Resort officially commenced on Nov 18, 2023, and will continue until March 2024. Currently, all 14 of its ski runs are open, including four beginner runs, six intermediate runs, and three advanced runs.
In order to allow more people to experience the joy of winter sports, Hohhot has constructed outdoor ice rinks in park water areas and vacant urban lots. These facilities offer a variety of safe and entertaining activities, such as outdoor curling, ice slides, and ice bumper cars.

Hohhot, situated in the "golden latitude belt" of ice and snow, has a winter season that lasts over four months with average temperatures ranging from -2C to -13C. This provides excellent natural conditions for winter sports.
In recent years, Hohhot has strategically capitalized on its winter tourism resources by developing diverse offerings and launching distinctive winter tourism activities. With its geographical and transportation advantages, Hohhot has formed a "2-hour transportation circle" with Beijing. The introduction of the "Beijing-Hohhot" ski train has further facilitated access for skiing enthusiasts, allowing more people to experience the region's unique ice and snow culture.
