Hohhot sees tourism surge during Mid-Autumn Festival

During the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, Hohhot welcomed 1.55 million domestic tourists, marking a 33.69 percent increase year-on-year. Total spending reached 1.07 billion yuan ($151 million), up 43.95 percent compared to last year. To enhance the holiday experience, the city launched various cultural performances, breathing life into the tourism market.
Highlighting the diversity of culture, Hohhot hosted a performance season featuring artists from Ningxia and Xizang alongside local performers. The event showcased a variety of artistic expressions, emphasizing China's rich cultural tapestry. The Artistic Beauty of Inner Mongolia, Jiangnan Paper-Cutting Exchange Exhibition displayed traditional paper-cutting art, allowing visitors to appreciate the craftsmanship from Hohhot in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region and Changzhou in East China's Jiangsu province.
The city organized various activities across different districts, linking scenic spots, urban areas, and rural tourism. Notable events included the "Joyful Chilechuan Grassland" performances and the "Mid-Autumn Camping and Moon Viewing" festival. Emphasizing a blend of tradition and innovation, the celebrations provided a fresh experience for visitors.
Given the rainy weather, safety precautions were prioritized. The local tourism bureau issued guidelines to ensure security across 48 A-grade tourist attractions and conducted thorough safety inspections to safeguard tourists during their holiday adventures.
