2026 Hohhot Spring Festival Cultural Temple Fair kicks off
The 2026 Hohhot Spring Festival Cultural Temple Fair is being held in the Saishang Old Street area of Hohhot's Yuquan district from Feb 22 (the sixth day of the first month of the Chinese calendar) to March 3 (the 15th day of the first month of the Chinese calendar).
The fair delves into traditional customs and intangible cultural heritage (ICH), exploring the cultural significance of Chilechuan folk customs and integrating ICH performances, modern performances and immersive interactions.

The fair's opening ceremony was held in the Saishang Old Street area on the morning of Feb 22. The ceremony featured a brilliant cultural performance with more than 10 programs, including horse-themed dances, and a heartfelt performance by the famous singer Meng Ke.

On Feb 24 (the eighth day of the first month of the Chinese calendar), a folk parade took place in Saishang Old Street, showcasing local yangko and southern ICH performances, with NPC interactions adding to the festivities.
From Feb 23 (the seventh day of the first month of the Chinese calendar) to March 2 (the 14th day of the first month of the Chinese calendar), ICH opera performances will be held every afternoon.
On March 3 (the 15th day of the first month of the Chinese calendar), the ICH Lantern Festival Celebration will serve as the grand finale, with immersive parades featuring yangko, dragon and lion dances, as well as electronic music performances, followed by a new folk music concert.
