In recent years, the Hohhot education bureau has innovatively developed the "five-domain" education concept – integrating moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education – to facilitate the all-round development of students in Hohhot.

Leveraging the municipal smart education cloud platform, the bureau has achieved 100 percent online publication of class schedules across 286 compulsory education schools citywide.

The education bureau has optimized campus teaching management and implemented the 15-minute break quality enhancement system. It offers 163 distinctive after-school courses across eight major subject categories, including oral English, art enlightenment, and thinking development.

The education bureau has established 246 studios for high-quality teachers and principals at various levels. In 2025 it recruited over 1,500 highly qualified teachers from Double First-Class universities and key normal universities.

In 2025, Hohhot hosted over 20 public welfare performances and exhibitions, reaching more than 40 primary and secondary schools citywide.

The bureau has collaborated with museums, science and technology centers, red-themed education bases, and other institutions to create over 60 off-campus comprehensive education practice platforms.

Since 2025, the bureau has organized over 1,590 themed moral education activities, covering more than 250,000 teachers and students. It has cultivated two national civilized campuses and 27 autonomous region-level civilized campuses.

Currently, 92 percent of primary and secondary schools citywide have established their own distinctive sports brands. The city has coordinated the construction of 25 standardized on-campus labor practice bases and off-campus study tour labor bases.
