Committed to boosting industrial development, Huzhou has been accelerating the transformation and upgrading of traditional industry and fostering strategic new industries. The industrial added value for enterprises above the designated size of Huzhou in 2018 increased by 9.3 percent compared to the previous year.

New energy automobiles and key components, and green home supplies have become 100-billion-yuan ($14 billion) industries in Huzhou, while the digital economy, metallic materials, high-end equipment manufacturing and the textiles industry have broken through 50 billion yuan.

According to national and provincial industrial development guidelines, Huzhou has proposed accelerating the development of four key industries – the information economy, high-end equipment manufacturing, healthcare and tourism–and upgraded three traditional advantage industries – metallic materials, green home furnishing and textiles.

Huzhou also took an initiative to cultivate several new growth points that will guide the economic development of the city in the future. A new industrial system with the pattern 4+3+N, will take shape in order to build new advantages for industries gathering in Huzhou.
