Anji county was recently designated as a demonstration area for all-for-one tourism, according to a document released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China.

The concept of all-for-one tourism, which was first proposed in 2017, focuses on integrating the tourism industry with other industries, such as the hospitality industry and cultural and creative industries, in order to further promote the development of tourism areas.

Tourism is vital to Anji's economy and the county, which is under the jurisdiction of Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province and has been developing itself into a large scenic area since 2008.

"In Anji, tourism is our primary means of revitalizing the countryside," said Peng Zhongxin, director of the county's bureau of culture, sports and tourism.

So far, it has built a group of museums, including an exhibition center, 12 ecological museums and 26 village museums, showcasing local history, culture and scenery. The museums are eventually expected to welcome over 1 million tourists each year.

In 2018, the county received over 25 million visitors, earning it tourism revenues of 32.5 billion yuan ($4.6 billion), according to official data.

In line with its focus on making the county beautiful, the county issued a document in 2015 outlining standards for developing "beautiful villages" –– standards that were later adopted nationwide.
