An accelerator manufacturing factory of Geely Auto Group in Changxing Economic and Technological Development Zone in Changxing county, Huzhou was recently put into use and welcomed its first batch of equipment.

The group, which was founded in 1997, is a leading automobile manufacturer based in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province.

The factory is part of a project jointly signed by Geely and the zone in 2018. The factory is expected to finish production of its first accelerator by March 2020.

The county planned to build a cluster for the new energy automobile manufacturing industry. In addition to the accelerator manufacturing factory, nine enterprises engaged in the industry will be built and put into use by the end of 2021, said officials.

The zone, which was established in 1992, was approved by the Zhejiang provincial government as a provincial-level development zone in 1994. It was designated as a national-level zone by the State Council of China in 2010.

According to local authorities, the zone has been dedicated to its high-quality development in recent years. It was approved as a national pilot area for high-end equipment manufacturing in 2018.

Since the beginning of 2019, a total of 23 projects worth 100 million yuan ($14.15 million) have been introduced into the zone.
