Summit forum in Deqing develops outdoor sports in Zhejiang

A provincial-level summit forum for outdoor sports was held from Nov 2 to 3 in Deqing Geographic Information Town in Deqing county, Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.

The forum was held by the city's sports bureau and the county government under the guidance of the Sports Bureau of Zhejiang Province in order to drive the development of outdoor sports in the province.

Many sports experts attended the forum and delivered keynote speeches, discussing developments, policies and trends in outdoor sports.

Li Hua, deputy director of the provincial sports bureau, pointed out that outdoor sports are becoming increasingly popular among sports fans across China, and Zhejiang is leading the country in turning outdoor sports into a viable industry.

Li said that the province will take full advantage of its abundant natural resources to develop outdoor sports and boost the economy in an environmentally friendly way.

According to local authorities, on the same day, a series of outdoor sports activities was held, including cycling, parkour and kayaking, in order to increase interest in sports and fitness.

The organizers of the activities also arranged several programs, such as a music party, small open-air cinema and a camping activity to enliven the proceedings for attendees and visitors.

Deqing Geographic Information Town is a provincial characteristic town home to 300 geographic information companies.
