Representatives from Qianyuan town in Deqing county, Huzhou recently signed a project to build a pharmaceutical supply chain industrial park at a match-making conference.

The project, funded by a subsidiary enterprise of Shenzhen Salubris Pharmaceuticals Co, brought $160 million in capital to the town.

The industrial park is expected to contribute 180 million yuan ($25.7 million) in taxes to the local government annually after being put into use.

Qianyuan town, located in the center of Deqing county, covers an area of over 66 square kilometers and has about 60,000 permanent residents.

Zhu Jianming, a local official in charge of economic development, said that the town is currently focusing on the development of new materials, high-end equipment, and pharmaceuticals, among other industries.

According to Zhu, the project is expected to bolster the industrial chain of pharmaceuticals in the town and boost local economy.

Zhu also added that Qianyuan has been dedicated to improving business environment and government services in recent years.

This is not the first time the town has cooperated with Shenzhen Salubris. Two projects, focusing on supply chains and intelligent electronics, were also carried out in the town.

"The transportation, environment and government services in the town are very attractive, so we decided to continue our partnership," said a staff member in charge of project promotion in Shenzhen Salubris.

Since the beginning of 2019, Qianyuan has been focusing on investment promotion. The town has introduced nine key projects worth nearly 3.4 billion yuan in total.
