Pastoral expo concludes in Deqing county

The closing ceremony of the first Beautiful China Pastoral Expo took place in Deqing county, Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province on Dec 1.

The expo was jointly held by the China Association for the Promotion of Village Development, the county's Party committee and the county government under the guidance of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China.

The expo, which lasted for 69 days, from Sept 23 to Dec 1, was held in celebration of the second Farmer's Harvest Festival, which was held for the first time last year to welcome the harvest season and honor agricultural workers.

The expo consisted of a main venue, six smaller venues, 66 special booths and over 200 standard booths, showcasing the beautiful countryside and farming culture of the Jiangnan area and drawing attention to issues related to rural revitalization.

Qiao Huimin, director of the research center of the China Society of Territorial Economists, summarized the achievements of the expo at the closing ceremony.

Chen Jian, deputy Party secretary of the county, said that the expo featured a number of bright spots and was successful and unforgettable.

According to Chen, Deqing will join hands with Chaotian district in the city of Guangyuan, Sichuan province to hold next year's expo.
