The Deqing county government chartered a high-speed train and 42 buses to retrieve more than 900 migrant workers at Deqing-based companies from several provinces on Feb 29.

The train started from Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province, passed through the cities of Qujing, Anshun in Yunnan province, Loudi city in Hunan province, and Shangrao city in Jiangxi province and finally arrived at Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province, after about 11 hours of traveling.

Deqing's government employees waited for the workers at the exit of Hangzhou West Railway Station. The government employees extended a warm welcome to the workers and provided them with free face masks, alcohol wipes and brochures explaining virus prevention tips, in an effort to protect them from infection.

The workers were then brought back to their dwellings in Deqing county by the chartered buses in the company of some government employees.

According to local authorities, another high-speed train chartered by Deqing county arrived at Huzhou on the same day, bringing back more than 400 migrant workers from Guangnan county, Yunnan province.
