Huzhou, a city in Zhejiang province, has received approval from the State Council to establish a comprehensive pilot zone for cross-border e-commerce, local media reported on May 6.

Huzhou is an important part of urban integration efforts in the Shanghai metropolitan area and the Hangzhou city circle and boasts a convenient location and mature development model for the information economy, home decoration, modern textiles, and e-commerce.

Due to its large industrial scale and high brand awareness overseas, Huzhou is expected to build a pilot zone combining the "Two Mountains" Theory with cross-border e-commerce and serve as a new trade center connecting the southern and northern parts of the Yangtze River Delta, according to the municipal bureau of commerce.
