Huzhou was recently rated as the safest city in East China's Zhejiang province with a score of 99.44 points, according to local media reports.

This is the third time the city has been rated as the safest in the province.

Local authorities have promised to pay a maximum of 100,000 yuan ($14,492.7) in compensation to those who are cheated and suffer direct losses after reporting an incident to the police via a designated hotline.

More than 3,550 cases of telecom and internet fraud have already been prevented since the launch of the hotline, saving more than 38.8 million yuan in public losses.

Data from the Zhejiang provincial bureau of statistics shows that the satisfaction rate among local residents toward public security in the city was 99.28 percent, ranking second in the province.

Huzhou also ranked 11th among the 26 major cities in the Yangtze River Delta in terms of business climate, behind Ningbo (10th) in Zhejiang.
