Changxing county in Huzhou recently made the list of 2020 China demonstration counties for rural e-commerce development.

The county will be granted a fund of 20 million yuan ($2.89 million) to fuel e-commerce growth in its rural areas.

In 2019, online retail sales of agricultural products soared 102 percent year-on-year to 1.25 billion yuan in Changxing, ranking among the highest in East China's Zhejiang province.

The number of active online stores selling agricultural products from the county amounted to 3,286 last year.

A total of 625 rural e-commerce service stations have been built across Changxing to date, with services covering all villages under its jurisdiction.

By 2021, the local authorities aim to increase the online retail sales of agricultural products to two billion yuan.

Meanwhile, the county will renovate and upgrade five county-level e-commerce public service centers and 625 rural e-commerce service stations, and foster 35 provincial-level e-commerce villages and 12 e-commerce towns.

Also by 2021, the county aims to provide e-commerce training to 25,000 people.
