Shanlian Ancient Town located in the city's Nanxun district is renowned for the production of the Huzhou writing brush. 

There are currently 358 enterprises in the town specializing in business related to the Huzhou writing brush . The art of making the brush was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2006.
