Dressed in a red dress, Lan Xing'e, hostess of a homestay known as "Azhong's Home", is warmly greeting guests from all over the country.

Azhong's Home, which started operating in 2017, was among the first homestays to open in Hengshanwu village, Lingfeng sub-district, Anji county, Huzhou. Its revenue grew from nearly 800,000 yuan ($123,067.9) in 2017 to 2.2 million yuan in 2020.

Lan attributed the homestay's success to the village's beautiful environment.

As an integral part of the Lingfeng National Tourism Resort, Hengshanwu has made strong efforts to protect its environment. Cai Mingfu, Party secretary of the village, said that the village's well-preserved environment has attracted plenty of investments.

With an investment of 400 million yuan, an idyllic complex integrating functions including tourism, recreation and cultural exchange that began operating in Hengshanwu in 2015 has now emerged as a popular tourism destination for tourists with children.

In 2020, the village's collective income surpassed 6 million yuan, while the per capita income exceeded 40,000 yuan, Cai said.
