Sheep breeding, a pillar industry in Lyushan township in Changxing county, Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, has witnessed robust growth following its digital transformation.

In a smart sheep farm in Lyushan town, data related to sheep numbers, temperature, humidity, and ventilation can be accessed via a digital platform.

In addition, each of the farm's sheep has been marked with a QR code to improve production efficiency.

The farm generates an average of 1 million yuan ($ 153,846) in income for each of the nine villages administered by Lyushan every year.

Raising sheep has also become an effective way to eradicate poverty. Official data show that the per capita income of poor farmers in the township increased by 20,000 yuan annually after getting involved in the sector.

Meanwhile, the local government is also trying to replicate its success in underdeveloped cities in the western part of the country. In the past three years, the township has transported more than 20,000 high-quality sheep to places like Gansu, Sichuan and Xinjiang.

Lyushan typifies the efforts made by Changxing to achieve rural revitalization through digitalization.
