A greenway in Huzhou was recently listed among the "most beautiful greenways in Zhejiang", according to the Huzhou Municipal Construction Bureau.

The greenway, which measures 15 kilometers in length and 4 meters in average width, is situated in Yucun village, Anji county. It connects numerous scenic spots in the village, including transformed old mining sites and a gingko forest.

It exemplifies the local authorities' efforts to promote green development under the guidance of the concept that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets."

To date, Huzhou has built greenways, spanning a total length of 966 kilometers. Such greenways are built to promote inter-connection among local scenic spots and parks.

In addition to greenway construction, the local government has constructed or renovated 34 parks in the past three years, increasing the per capita park green space to 7.31 square meters.

Efforts have also been made to promote the recycling of garden waste. At present, Huzhou has built six garden waste disposal sites, with an annual processing capacity of 270,000 metric tons.
