Huzhou was recently rated as the safest city in East China's Zhejiang province in October, according to local media reports.

This was the fifth consecutive month that the city has been rated as the safest in the province.

The ranking was made based on a safety index, an indicator introduced by Zhejiang that is the first of its kind in the nation, to measure the safety level of cities in the province.

The index evaluates a city's safety in a variety of aspects including politics, society, finance, production, food, drugs, ecological environment, internet, and information.
