Those yearning for a refreshing spring getaway should consider Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province.
Sitting along Taihu Lake, the third largest freshwater lake in China, the city is one of the most popular tourism destinations in the Yangtze River Delta thanks to its unspoiled nature landscape.
Mount Mogan, located in Huzhou's Deqing county, is known as one of the four most renowned summer resorts in China.The mountain was listed by the New York Times as one of the 45 best places in the world to visit. It is renowned for its pristine natural views, homestays, and boutique hotels.
Another must-visit place is Nanxun Ancient Town, Huzhou's only 5A national scenic area – the nation's highest rating for scenic spots.
Founded in 1252 during the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), the town is currently among the top six ancient towns in Jiangnan – the region located south of the Yangtze River.
In addition to the renowned scenic attractions, visitors to Huzhou can also admire various flowers in full bloom, including peach blossoms at the Xisai Mountain Tourism Resort and rapeseed flowers spanning over an area of 170 mu (11.33 hectares) in Bailidian town, Wuxing district.
