Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province has been playing an active role in helping Shanghai in its fight against COVID-19.

In addition to sending medics, Huzhou has been supplying with city with food and vegetables.

A truck loaded with more than 30 metric tons of rice donated by an enterprise in the city's Wuxing district arrived in Shanghai on April 12.

Bamboo shoots freshly harvested by farmers were also sent to the city from Wuxing.

In addition, Huzhou's Deqing county donated roughly 7,500 kilograms of food, including vegetables, fruit and rice, to Shanghai on April 12.

In light of the shortage of deliverymen on Shanghai's streets, a food delivery platform in Deqing has dispatched personnel to the city to provide point-to-point delivery services.

Shanghai, which is under a citywide lockdown, reported 19,872 locally-transmitted asymptomatic infections of the novel coronavirus on April 14, official statistics show.
