Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province might be best known for its Nanxun Ancient Town and Mount Mogan, but there are several other fantastic destinations also worth visiting. Here are five of them.

Feiying Tower

Originally built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), Feiying Tower is listed among the three wonders in Huzhou due to its unique structure which features a larger tower embedded with a smaller one.

In January 1988, the tower was designated a State key cultural relic protection unit.

In Digang village in Hefu town, Nanxun district, visitors can not only admire ancient houses and pavilions along the river, but also explore the slow-paced lifestyle that has been around for decades.

Here, visitors can witness the masterful skills of a cask artisan and savor sweet-scented osmanthus rice cakes and wontons at local eateries.

Qianyuan town

With a history of over 1,300 years, Qianyuan is an ancient town that once served as the political, economic and cultural center of Huzhou's Deqing county from 691 to 1994. It was also one of the main production areas for rice and silk in Zhejiang.

Small-sized Yan'an in Jiangan

Wentang village in Meishan town, Huzhou's Changxing county was where the headquarters of the Jiangsu-Zhejiang military area of the Fourth Front Red Army was located, thus earning itself the nickname the "small-sized Yan'an in Jiangnan".

Jiangnan refers to a region located in the south of the Yangtze River, and Yan'an was a renowned revolutionary base in Shaanxi province.

Xinshi Ancient Town

Situated in Huzhou's Deqing county, Xinshi Ancient Town is divided into 18 sections that are connected to one another by more than 50 bridges.

The town is renowned for its exquisite architecture, which includes Ming and Qing-style houses and temples along the rivers.
