Ji Bowen and his teammate Liu Hao won the silver medal in the men's 1000m double sculls at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Halifax, Canada, on Aug 6.

The pair clocked a time of 3 minutes and 55.34 second, only behind Germany's Sebastian Brendel and Tim Hecker.

That same day, the pair also finished third in the men's 500m double sculls with a time of 1 minute and 46.9 seconds.

In May, Ji finished fourth in the men's 500m single scull final at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup in Racice, Czech Republic. He clocked a time of 1 minute and 45.93 seconds, which is the best performance by an athlete from Zhejiang to date.

A native of Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, Ji was drafted into the national canoeing team in 2021. That same year, the 20-year-old grabbed three medals at the 14th National Games in Xi'an, Shaanxi province in September.
