Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province will issue 2 million yuan ($307,692) worth of coupons to spur the consumption in local cultural and tourism sectors during the upcoming National Day holiday.

The coupons, which are slated to be released every Thursday from Sept 28, can be used in designated hotels, homestays, travel agencies, scenic spots and cultural venues before Nov 25.

All people in Huzhou are eligible to apply for a set of coupons, which enable people to save 125 yuan after spending 500 yuan on Nantaihuhao, an app backed by the local government.

The coupons will remain valid for seven days after being obtained.

To date, more than 400 companies from the city have confirmed their participation in the campaign.
