Nanxun reviews achievements from past decade

Ahead of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Huzhou's Nanxun district has detailed its achievements over the past 10 years.

Nanxun's gross domestic product (GDP) in 2021 was nearly double that of 2012 and the output value of industrial enterprises above designated size in the district has topped 100 billion yuan ($15.38 billion), said Wen Jianfei, Party chief of Nanxun, at a news conference on Oct 13.

The elevator industry in Nanxun has been selected as the national industrial demonstration base, while local high-end equipment manufacturing and wood floor sectors were included in the national pilot program for standardization.

In 2021, Nanxun was also listed among the top 100 districts in China in terms of green development. In the past 10 years, the percentage of days with good air quality in a year by more than 20.

In addition, the local government has made strides in the pursuit of common prosperity.

For example, the urban-rural income ratio has been narrowed to the current 1.61. The district has always given top priority to safeguarding people's health, and this is evidenced by how the medical insurance coverage rate of the registered population is the highest in Huzhou.

In addition, the per capita income of local low-income residents has also expanded by 80 percent over the past 10 years.
