The online application developed by authorities in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province to streamline procedures related to tax and fee cuts was recently praised by the State Council.

According to the authorities, the application has facilitated 31.11 billion yuan ($4.79 billion) worth of tax and fee cuts since April 2021.

The app has also made it more convenient for companies to apply for tax and fee cuts as applicants no longer need to submit as many documents as before.

In the first eight months of this year, more than 2.87 million market entities in Huzhou benefitted from the exemption of 17.12 billion yuan in taxes and fees, according to local taxation authorities.

As of Sept 22, tax and fee cuts for enterprises in Zhejiang had totaled 325.1 billion yuan, 8.4 percent higher than this year's initial target.
