An increasing number of coffee shops have been set up in Anji county, East China's Zhejiang province in recent years to cater to tourists traveling to rural areas.

Official data show that 251 coffees shops have been established in Anji's rural areas, more than any other county-level areas in the Yangtze River Delta region.

Luo Fudi, deputy director of the Anji Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, said that rural tourism has been booming in Anji over the past two decades, and the emergence of new coffee shops would help meet the needs of tourists.

A coffee shop located in Xinfeng village, Xilong township has become hugely popular following its opening in late September. The shops, which are shaped like a plane, can sell 200 to 300 cups of coffee per day, according to its owner.

In addition to coffee shops, 30-plus campsites have been built across Anji to cater to the camping trend in China.

The county has also launched an array of cultural and art events, including concerts and exhibitions, to enhance rural tour experiences.

The local government will recruit more professional talents to explore new possibilities in the rural tourism sector, according to Luo.

In 2021, Anji saw 12.06 million rural tourism trips, official data show.
