A chartered flight carrying 25 representatives of 18 chair manufacturers from Anji county, Huzhou, departed for Germany on Oct 23, local media reported.
This is the second business flight launched by Huzhou this year. The first of such flights was launched on Sept 22, with 21 representatives from eight local companies traveling to Vietnam where they secured deals worth 70 million yuan ($10.77 million).
Passengers aboard the second chartered plane will participate in ORGATEC 2022, a leading international trade fair for equipment and furnishing of offices and properties which is scheduled to be held in Cologne, Germany from Oct 25 to 29.
With an exhibition space of 130,000 square meters, the fair is expected to attract 671 exhibitors and about 56,000 visitors.
Furniture companies from Anji see the event as an important platform that helps expand their presence overseas, a local commerce official said.
In 2021, Anji's imports and exports totaled 30.94 billion yuan, an increase of 2.2 percent. Specifically, its export volume stood at 30.25 billion yuan, an uptick of 2.8 percent year-on-year.
This year, Huzhou authorities have taken a series of measures to facilitate the entry and exit of foreign-related business personnel and introduce policies that drive the high-quality development of foreign trade.
