Festival launched to boost private economy in Huzhou

The inaugural Huzhou Private Entrepreneurs Festival opened in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province on Nov 1.

At the festival's opening ceremony, Chen Hao, Party chief of Huzhou, spoke highly of the contributions made by local private companies in boosting Huzhou's reform and opening up, and pledged that the government will spare no efforts to promote the healthy development of the private sector in the years to come.

Wang Jianyi, chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce, expressed hope that local private entrepreneurs would strengthen innovation, broaden international horizons and contribute more to the city's social and economic development.

The opening ceremony also saw the release of the 2022 lists of the top 50 Huzhou private companies in terms of revenue, tax payment, R&D spending and employment.

Those who made the lists for the top 500 Chinese private companies, top 500 Chinese private manufacturers and top 500 Chinese private service providers in 2022 were also conferred awards.

During the fourth meeting of the Standing Committee of the ninth Huzhou Municipal People's Congress held on Aug 25, officials decided that the "Huzhou Private Entrepreneurs Festival" would be held on November 1 every year starting in 2022.
