A summit attended by members of the Yangtze River Delta G60 Sci-Tech Innovation Valley was held on Nov 8 on the sidelines of the ongoing fifth China International Import Expo in Shanghai.

Chen Hao, Party chief of Huzhou, addressed the conference. Huzhou became a member of the alliance in June 2018.

Since its establishment in 2016, the G60 Sci-Tech Innovation Valley has added Shanghai's Songjiang district, Jiaxing, Hangzhou, Jinhua, Suzhou, Huzhou, Xuancheng, Wuhu and Hefei to its list of members.

The valley is named as such because the nine places are connected with each other via transportation arteries such as the G60 Highway and the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-speed Railway.

The innovation valley is currently home to more than 36,000 high-tech enterprises and 898 State-level "little giant" enterprises and houses a large number of innovation facilities including 196 universities, 652 research facilities for academicians and 458 research facilities for doctors.

The valley has emerged as a magnet for global talent. Official data indicates that it has attracted more than 11.9 million talents, including 1,000 at the national level and 4,200 at the provincial level.
