Xiantan village in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, made the 2022 list of beautiful Chinese leisure villages, making it the only village in the city to win such an honor this year.

Located in Moganshan town, Deqing county, Xiantan made the list due to its robust agritainment development.

Located at the northern foot of Mount Mogan, a famous summer resort, Xiantan is named after two famous scenic spots – Xianren Cave and Biwulong Lake – in the village.

To take advantage of the booming tourism scene at Mount Mogan, the village has developed more than 130 homestays to accommodate the influx of visitors, with about 30 being rated among the best in Zhejiang.

The homestays, which have created jobs for more than 1,000 people, received around 200,000 tourists in 2021.

Regular cultural events in the village, including birthday banquets for seniors and Spring Festival galas, as well as dragon dance and gong and drum performances, have also increased its appeal to visitors.
