An increasing number of tourists have been flocking to Huzhou's Anji county, as the ski season, which usually lasts from mid-December to March, kicked off recently.

The Skyland Starry Sky Ski Field in Anji now receives between 1,000 to 3,000 tourists on weekends, and about 1,000 visitors per day even on weekdays, according to Zhu Chen, an staff member at the ski field.

Located at an altitude of 1,168 meters, the ski field can accommodate more than 10,000 skiers, who can choose between an advanced skiing area, an intermediate area, and an elementary area.

"I really like this ski resort as it has automatic ropeways and the track is quite long," said Zhang Huixin, a tourist from Hangzhou, capital city of Zhejiang province.

Some visitors traveled from outside Zhejiang to the resort. Huang Zifan and his wife, for example, drove from Nanjing, capital city of Jiangsu province, to experience the winter sport.

The resort has also increased the number of instructors to 300 this year to better cater to the growing demand for lessons.

During the last ski season, the Skyland Starry Sky Ski Field welcomed 170,000 tourists, generating 120 million yuan ($17.14 million) in revenue, official statistics show.
