Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province was recently listed among the fourth group of national demonstration cities for service-oriented manufacturing released by the Ministry of industry and Information Technology.

Service-oriented manufacturing is a new manufacturing paradigm which integrates manufacturing with service. In 2016, China launched a campaign to boost the development of service-oriented manufacturing, which is set to play a crucial role in upgrading the nation's industrial structure.

To date, five companies from Huzhou, including Xingguang, Tianneng and OSM, have been honored as national service-oriented manufacturing model companies, and 35 have been designated provincial models in that regard, official statistics show.

Farm machinery producer Xingguang has expanded its service portfolios by unveiling a digital agricultural production management system to help farmers reduce labor costs.

A national high-tech enterprise specializing in the R&D, manufacturing and sales of pearl biological products, OSM has rolled out customized services in accordance with customer demands.

In addition, Huzhou has been actively promoting green product certification since it received approval to do so in April 2018. Presently, the city has 26 national green supply chain management enterprises, accounting for more than 50 percent of the total in Zhejiang and the most in the province.
