Ji Bowen took home three gold medals and a silver medal at a national canoeing championship held in East China's Zhejiang province from Feb 4 to 5.

Ji won gold in the men's 200m, 500m and 1,000m single sculls and claimed the silver in the men's 5,000m single sculls.

A native of Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, Ji was drafted into the national canoeing team in 2021. That same year, the 20-year-old won three medals at the 14th National Games in Xi'an, Shaanxi province in September.

Last September, Ji pocketed the gold medal in the men's 500m single sculls at the 2022 ICF Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint World Championships in Szeged, Hungary.

A month earlier, Ji and his teammate Liu Hao grabbed a silver medal and a bronze medal at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Halifax, Canada.

In May 2022, Ji finished fourth in the men's 500m single scull final at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup in Racice, Czech Republic with a timing of 1 minute and 45.93 seconds - the best performance by an athlete from Zhejiang to date.
