Huzhou's Anji county will release 2 billion yuan ($289.86 million) worth of coupons to spur consumption in its cultural and tourism sectors, which have been recovering in the wake of the nation's optimization of  COVID-19 control policies in January.

The coupons, which are slated to be released on platforms like Ctrip, Meituan and Fliggy in installments, can be used at designated hotels, homestays, travel agencies, scenic spots and cultural venues in the county, according to local tourism authorities.

A ceremony to mark the launch of the campaign was held in Anji on Feb 28, and the ceremony coincided with the opening of an exhibition featuring 100-plus cultural relics unearthed from the Yangling emperor mausoleum, including pottery figurines, painted pottery tripods and bronze mirrors.

The Yangling emperor mausoleum, located in Xianyang, Shaanxi province, is a graveyard of the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 24) where Emperor Jindi (188 BC-141 BC) and his empress were buried. The archaeological discoveries at the mausoleum have played an important role in the study of the politics, economy and culture of the Western Han society.
