Wang Yucheng, a deputy to the National People's Congress, detailed the development of Yucun village in Huzhou's Anji county over the past 18 years during a panel interview held on the sidelines of the nation's top legislature's annual session, which commenced in Beijing on March 5.

According to Wang, Yucun has achieved remarkable development since 2015, the year the nation's top leader mapped out the green development path for the village during his visit there.

Formerly a relative remote area affected by heavily pollution from mining activities, Yucun is today a renowned tourism destination that has an annual collective income of 13.05 million yuan ($1.89 million) and a per capita income of 64,863 yuan.

The village is presently exploring ways to replicate its success in its surrounding areas as well as in Sichuan province and the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Wang said.
