A bevy of folk activities were staged on April 16 in Langcun - a village inhabited by the She ethnic minority in Huzhou - to celebrate the Sanyuesan.

Sanyuesan, which in Chinese refers to the third day of the third lunar month, is one of the country's most famous folk festivals.

The celebrations staged in Langcun this year included a bamboo pole dance, an opera performance, as well as a fiesta featuring food with strong ethnic characteristics.

Some artisans were also invited to demonstrate traditional skills like the crafting of She-styled colored ribbons.

The celebration is held annually in Langcun, one of only two villages inhabited by ethnic minorities in Huzhou, as part of efforts by local authorities to develop rural tourism.
