Huzhou adds 2 national demonstration farmers' cooperatives

Two farmers' cooperatives in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province were recently designated as national demonstration farmers' cooperatives, bringing the total number of such cooperatives in the city to 11.
One of the two new honor recipients is Shanyaer Zaoyuan Bamboo Shoot Professional Cooperative in Huzhou's Deqing county. Founded in August 2022, the cooperative, as its name suggests, specializes in the planting, processing and sales of Zaoyuan bamboo shoots.
In 2022, the cooperative generated an annual output value of 46.1 million yuan ($6.66 million) and helped its members increase their incomes by 23,600 yuan.
Located in Huzhou's Anji county, Hengxi Moso Bamboo Professional Cooperative is the other addition to the list of national demonstration farmers' cooperatives.
Established with a registered capital of 5.73 million yuan in 2015, the cooperative has 324 members and owns 6,313 mu (420.87 hectares) of bamboo forests.
It has adopted a unified management model that sees dividends being distributed to villagers according to the number of shares they hold.
As of the end of 2022, there were 1,571 farmers' cooperatives covering agricultural industries such as grain and oil, aquatic products, fruits, tea, vegetables, seedlings and agricultural machinery services in Huzhou.
