Meishan Central Primary School in Meishan town, Changxing county, Huzhou was filled with vibrant colors as a remarkable dragon dance was staged on June 19.

The event was held as part of a series of activities to help promote the Baixian cloth dragon dance, a local intangible cultural heritage item, among students, while also heralding the approaching the Dragon Boat Festival.

This traditional holiday, also referred to as the Duanwu Festival, is typically celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar. This year, it will fall on June 22.
