Huzhou's Nanxun district is poised to strengthen cooperation with Shanghai, as 24 projects by Shanghai-based companies are planned to be established in the district, with a total investment of more than 21 billion yuan ($2.93 billion).
On July 18, a signing ceremony was held in Shanghai to mark the initiation of the projects, which primarily focus on three key sectors: photoelectric displays and semiconductors, core components for new energy vehicles, and high-end manufacturing in the biopharmaceutical industry.
This year, Nanxun district is celebrating the 20th anniversary since its establishment. The completion of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou Railway next year will bring about a significant improvement in connectivity between Nanxun and Shanghai, reducing travel time to a mere 20 minutes. This railway will also foster closer integration between Nanxun and Shanghai in terms of both time and space, thereby promoting the concept of "same-city development".
