Two districts – Wuxing and Nanxun – in Huzhou recently made the 2023 list of the top 100 districts in terms of comprehensive tourism strength.

The list was jointly released by the Research Team on National Urban Districts' Tourism and the Beijing Huaxia Baiqiang Tourism Consultation Center in Beijing.

Wuxing district has made impressive strides in tourism development in recent years. Located in the district, an ancient block comprising Yishang Street, Xiaoxi Street and Zhuangyuan Street was listed among the second group of national tourism and leisure blocks released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism earlier this year.

The 15.69-hectare block, the only one from the city on the list, is a place where historical architecture is harmoniously intertwined with modern commerce.

Official statistics show Wuxing welcomed about 17.39 million tourists in the first eight months of this year, generating 19.39 billion yuan ($2.66 billion) in tourism revenue.
