4 Huzhou athletes to compete at Asiad

Four athletes from Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, have been chosen to represent China at the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games. The athletes, Ji Bowen, Han Jiayu, Huang Jinbin, and Bu Yunchaokete, will compete in four major events.

Ji Bowen, a native of Huzhou's Anji county, was selected for the national canoeing team in 2021. At the 14th National Games in Xi'an, Shaanxi province last year, the 20-year-old won three medals. He recently won a silver medal in the men's 500m double sculls at the 2023 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Duisburg, Germany.

Han Jiayu, born in 2001, began her shooting career in 2013. From Huzhou's Wuxing district, she claimed the gold medal in the women's 10m air rifle individual event at the 2023 ISSF World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan in August. Earlier this year, she won the gold medal in the same event at the 2023 ISSF Shooting World Cup in Baku.

Huang Jinbin, who is from Anji county, joined the Zhejiang Provincial Climbing Team in 2017. This year, he achieved second place in the men's all-around event at the 29th National Climbing Championships.

Bu Yunchaokete, originally from Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, started his tennis training at the Huzhou Tennis Center. In 2022, he won six ITF Junior singles championships, making him the player with the highest number of championships that year. He also won his first career challenger tournament in Seoul this year.
