A European glassware and ceramic exhibition opened at the Huzhou Museum on Sept 15 and is slated to run until Nov 30.

This exhibition, which promises to be a visual delight, features a total of 129 exquisite pieces from the renowned Shanghai Museum collection.

This collaboration between the Huzhou Museum and Shanghai Museum marks a significant milestone, as it is the first time the two museums have worked together to bring such an exhibition to Huzhou. Furthermore, it is the first time that the Huzhou Museum has had the privilege of showcasing antique glassware.

Liu Gang, a curator from the Shanghai Museum, shared fascinating insights into the historical journey of European ceramic art. From the 18th century to the early 20th century, Europe witnessed a series of aesthetic evolutions, with the active involvement of gifted painters and sculptors who propelled the art of ceramics to unprecedented heights.
