The Huzhou Museum recently launched an exhibition showcasing 24 gifts from Shimada, Japan, presenting a variety of items including Japanese wooden clocks, copper handicrafts, and residential landscape paintings.

Huzhou and Shizuoka, a prefecture overseen by Shimada, first initiated friendly exchanges back in 1983. This eventually led to the establishment of a sisterhood relationship with Shimada in 1987. This exhibition marks the second time that gifts from Shimada have been showcased at the Huzhou Museum, with the first being in 2007.

In an effort to further foster connections with its sister cities in East Asia, Huzhou has planned a series of exhibitions. The next exhibition, scheduled for November, will highlight objects and photographs from Yeongam and Cheongju in South Korea.
