Five towns located in Huzhou's Wuxing district have been recognized among China's top 1,000 towns in terms of comprehensive strength in 2023.

The five towns, namely Zhili, Balidian, Daixi, Donglin, and Miaoxi, achieved rankings of 52nd, 57th, 224th, 776th, and 877th, respectively, on the list. The rankings were announced at a forum held in Beijing on Oct 20.

The evaluation for determining the rankings took into consideration five key factors: economic development, innovation vitality, development potential, livability, and affluence. The fact that five towns from Wuxing made it onto the list highlights the remarkable resilience and dynamism of the local economy, as highlighted by experts.
