Festival launched to bolster private economy in Huzhou

The second Huzhou Private Entrepreneurs Festival commenced in Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province on Oct 31.

During the festival's opening ceremony, Gao Xingfu, deputy secretary of the standing committee of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress, emphasized the positive impact of the provincial government's policy measures boosting the private sector unveiled in August. He expressed his hope that private companies will increase their investment in research and development, enhance product competitiveness, and elevate brand awareness.

Chen Hao, Party chief of Huzhou, commended the local private companies for their significant contributions to the city's development. He referred to them as the city's most valuable treasures and encouraged more entrepreneurs to invest in Huzhou, thus fostering shared development opportunities with the city.

In addition, the opening ceremony featured the unveiling of the 2023 rankings of the top 50 Huzhou private companies based on revenue, tax payment, research and development expenditure, and employment. Awards were also presented to those who made the lists of the top 500 Chinese private companies, top 500 Chinese private manufacturers, and top 500 Chinese private service providers in 2023.
