The first-ever Chinese Geographic Information Conference for Geodesy, Photogrammetry, and Cartography took place in Deqing county, Huzhou, on Nov 9.

The event saw the participation of prominent figures such as Liu Guohong, vice-minister of Natural Resources, Yang Qingjiu, vice governor of Zhejiang, and Song Chaozhi, chairman of the China Surveying and Mapping Society, who delivered insightful speeches throughout the conference.

Under the guidance of the Ministry of Natural Resources and hosted by the China Surveying and Mapping Society, the China Geographic Information Industry Association, and the China Satellite Navigation and Positioning Association, the conference aimed to showcase the latest advancements in the application of the Beidou system within the fields of mapping, surveying, and geographic information. Additionally, it provided a valuable platform for attendees to exchange innovative ideas and explore future developments in the industry.

The conference also witnessed the official announcement and on-site presentations of several prestigious awards such as the 2023 Surveying and Mapping Science and Technology Award, the Geographic Information Science and Technology Award, and the Satellite Navigation and Positioning Science and Technology Award.
