Dai Dandan, a wushu athlete from Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, claimed the championship title in the women's taijiquan sword category at the 16th World Wushu Championships held in Fort Worth, the United States, from Nov 14 to 20.

Born in February 1992, Dai Dandan has established herself as a dominant force in the world of wushu. Her remarkable achievements include winning the women's 42-form taijiquan championship at the 1st World Taijiquan Championships in 2014 and the women's optional taijiquan sword championship at the 2nd World Taijiquan Championships in 2016. In addition, she secured a third-place finish in the women's taijiquan all-around event at the 13th National Games in 2017.

Dai's reputation has only continued to soar in subsequent years. In the 2018 National Wushu Routine Championships, she claimed the championship title in the women's 42-form taijiquan sword category, demonstrating her exceptional skills and unwavering dedication. Furthermore, at the 2019 National Wushu Routine Championships, she once again showcased her mastery by securing the championship title in the women's Yang-style taijiquan category.

The World Wushu Championships, held every two years, represent the pinnacle of the martial arts world. They gather top-notch athletes from Asia, Europe, Africa, Pan-America, and Oceania. The 16th edition of this prestigious championship was hosted by the International Wushu Federation and organized by the United States of America Wushu-Kungfu Federation (USAWKF).
