Over 10,000 marathoners to descend upon Huzhou

The inaugural Huzhou Marathon is scheduled to take place in the city on Dec 3, organizers announced at a recent press conference.

This Class A1 event, recognized by the Chinese Athletics Association, has garnered significant interest from both domestic and international runners since registration opened.

With limited spots available, the marathon offers three categories for participants to choose from: a full marathon, a half marathon, and a 6-kilometer fitness run. The categories are limited to 2,000, 5,000, and 3,000 participants, respectively.

Of particular note, nearly 70 percent of registrations have come from within Zhejiang, showcasing strong local enthusiasm. Additionally, the race has already attracted 17 foreigners.

This event encompasses people of all ages and backgrounds, from the oldest participant, a 77-year-old runner from Beijing who will be taking part in the half marathon, to the youngest participant, a 2-year-old from Huzhou who will be joining the fitness run.
